Malaysian Night Market Fried Chicken Omelet Recipe
This is a recipe for a fried chicken omelet that is popular in Malaysian night markets. This fried noodle omelet is a spicy omelet with less heat and more flavor that anyone can enjoy. It's made with simple ingredients and an easy process.
Ingredients (per serving)
- 1 bag buldak fried noodles
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 sausage
- some mozzarella cheese
* If you don't have sausage, you can substitute ham or bacon.
The process of making a fried chicken omelet
1. Cook the buldak fried noodles
Cook the buldak fried noodles in boiling water for 5 minutes, discard the water, and brush the buldak sauce evenly over the noodles.
2. Prepare your ingredients
Prepare 2 eggs, well beaten. Leave the cheese out at room temperature to melt, and prepare the sausage by grilling it once or poaching it in warm water, depending on your preference.
3. cook the noodles and eggs
Heat 1 T of cooking oil in a pan over low heat, and spread the fried bulgogi noodles in a wide swath in the pan. Pour the reserved egg wash over the noodles, going around the edges. *The noodles should be in direct contact with the pan, so be careful not to pour the egg first.
4. add cheese and sausage
Layer cheddar, sausage, and mozzarella cheese on one side of the pan, then tilt the pan and fold it in half. Cook slowly over low heat until the cheese is melted.
5. finalize
Slice the omelet into bite-sized pieces and sprinkle with the enclosed nori flakes. Feel free to add mayonnaise if you like.
